Pottermost was created with one idea in mind: getting the most out of your Pottermore experience. The community aims to act as a companion to Pottermore; not a replacement. Here at Pottermost, we hope to bring the Pottermore community together, with a focus on discussions of the text, exploration of new additions, and creating a controlled and intelligent environment to enhance what JK Rowling and her publishers have planned.
Currently, we are planning on having formal discussion topics as chapters are released on Pottermore. Because we are not positive how the site will be run yet, this plan may change. We would like to keep discussion topics specific and interesting to our members. For example, rather than just “Severus Snape: Discuss”, we could have “Discuss Snape’s role in Harry’s survival”. We will also have “common room”-type posts for members to chat and catch up in. They will not be free for all’s, but picspams, macros, vids, fics, and things of that nature are welcome and encouraged there. We all need a place to unwind.
We’re hoping to incorporate guest posts as well. We would love to hear suggestions for discussion topics. Have an essay on why Harry and Hermione should have been canon? Let’s post it and discuss it.
The Department of Magical Law Enforcement decrees:Make like a Hufflepuff and love thy neighbor. Whether you ship canon, fanon or anything in between, we want to hear about it. All opinions are welcome and open for discussion here, and disagreements are natural, but we will not allow personal attacks, flaming, ship wars, trolling other members, attacking members’ personal journals, or any other sort of aggravated internet assault. Take your anger elsewhere.
Magic is not might. Any attacks a la the Dark Lord will not be tolerated. Racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise derogatory and ignorant comments will earn you a banning.
No wand-waving or silly incantations in class. You know the drill. In our formal discussion posts lets please stick to the topic. Fanart, fic recs, macros, videos, etc. that are appropriate to the topic on hand are welcome. We want to keep discussions as on track as possible. General discussions about life, love, and every OT thought your little heart cares to share are encouraged in the appropriate posts.
Picspams are fun, but please keep the amount and size of pictures under check. We want everyone, dial-up or otherwise, to be able to enjoy the posts. And please refrain from hardcore porn or anything illegal.
Above all, we want you to have a fun, happy, and safe experience here. We all lead busy lives, so this is not meant to be a chore, just a place to engage in some good-natured debate and to fawn over Jo’s amazing new creation: Pottermore.
Welcome to Pottermost!
